What I Think Twitter Is

October 26, 2009 Uncategorized

It’s obviously that people join Twitter day in and day out, thinking it’s something it isn’t. First off, it’s not a game to be played when you’re bored, it’s not a way to tell people what you’re eating for breakfast or had for dinner, it’s not what any of these mainstream TV shows and Ashton Kutcher are showing it to be. It’s a way for people to conenct to other people in a way that is more than it seems.

You don’t simply put up “I’m in the car”, that’s a useless tweet. More than what most of these enw people who have joined have made it become. Twitter, in a nutshell, is a simple way for you to post things that aren’t large enough for you to post on your blog. I don’t post here things about me finding dollars, or getting a new job as an editor.

Most of the people who have joined put up things about trends and created absolutely ridiculous ones. Like one from yesterday, “#shescutebut…”. And the sad part of the entire thing is, it’s all adding to a newformed stereotype. Look at all the tweets, and you’ll notice that nine out of ten of the people posting are stereotypical African Americans. I’m sick of having to see random trends as topics and people trying to be funny, when they obviously aren’t. Bring back the Twitter where I could read the trends and see decent information – not this bs.

Nice post. I noticed the same thing about 9 out of ten people participating in TT’s are African American. Whats up with that? lol Plus, why can’t people just throw in one or two posts? They have to fill a whole page with spam tweets. I unfollow people that spam my feed like that.
